Energy Management

'The aim of Energy Management is to ensure that energy use and costs are as low as possible, while standards of service, comfort and productivity are maintained or improved. (DETR Best Practice Guide)' GM Associates specialise in assisting organisations to review their existing energy demands and help set up monitoring programmes to reduce consumption.

GM Associates are approved by the Carbon Trust, for design advice consultation, and exisiting site surveys providing a FREE one to four day consultancy for existing buildings. (Some qualifications apply)

Effective Energy Management can reduce energy costs by 20-30%. After tariff optimisation, site audits and custom reports can be used to achieve both savings and show commitment to environmental objectives.

Energy Review

• Establish the facts-where energy is being used, when and how.
• Benchmark against industry standards for consumption and carbon emission.
• Identify areas for savings and develop energy efficiency priorities.
• Advise on purchasing, contract management and monitoring consumption.
• Help set up energy policies and procedures to maintain ongoing efficiency.
  

The Process
The review is broken down into three parts.

Part 1
The initial review will establish areas that can offer immediate savings and will prioritise actions for part 2.(This can also be part of the Action Energy programme)

Part 2
This section will review in more detail, the highest priority items, to justify the costs/benefits.
We can also recommend and assist with local metering to demonstrate costs and savings.

Part 3
This section follows on from previous sections and will develop an ongoing policy and action plan, which can be reviewed regularly.

Pre Construction Review

• Lifetime costs can be many times higher if first cost is only considered.
• We can advise strategies for optimum energy use, without adding to construction or refurbishment costs.
• These surveys cna also be partly funded by Action Energy

Ease of payment

Existing customers of GM Associates with electricity and gas negotiations, can have payments spread out over the original contract term.
Alternatively a single invoice can be raised if preferable or we can ask your supplier to include our fee in the supply cost.

Carbon Trust loans for £5,000-£50,000 for qualifying companies for specific enrgy conservation projects.
